Product Description

TheCO2 level in indoor air is a relevant indicator for assessing a room’s airtightness. In indoor building environments, this molecule is primarily produced by human respiration (exhaled air). ACO2 level exceeding 1,500 ppm indicates that air exchange is insufficient. If this threshold is exceeded, measures must be taken to improve indoor air quality.

TheCO2 sensor selected by the laboratory is a Class’Air electronic unit, approved by the CSTB for measuring carbon dioxide in the indoor air of public-access facilities (ERP). It is equipped with a high-precisionCO₂sensor (NDIR technology) that offers a resolution of 1 ppm.

Two versions of the Class’Air sensor are available:

- The Class’Air Educational Model: This is the simplest model. It displays real-time readings forCO2 levels, temperature, and humidity (one measurement every 10 minutes—measurement frequency can be adjusted). It also includes three colored LEDs (green, orange, red) that make it very easy to visualize theCO2 level, as well as the option to add an audible beep when levels exceed a critical threshold. The thresholds are user-configurable.

- The Class'Air with data logging: Visually, this is the same model as the educational sensor, but it includes a data logging function. You can then easily retrieve the data using the USB drive and the Class'Air software.

The sensor is very easy to move from one room to another since it does not require a power connection (battery-powered).

The Class'Air is factory-calibrated. It is entirely designed and manufactured in France. drapeau

2023 Recommendations from the Indoor Air Quality Observatory

Is this sensor suitable for my needs?

Do you want to measureCO₂ concentration with a direct reading and monitor changes in humidity and temperature over a period of at least two hours?

The Class’Air sensor is the ideal solution. Simple and intuitive, it allows you to continuously measureCO2levels, enabling you to identify pollution spikes and/orevaluate the effectiveness ofavailableventilation systems.

It fully complies with the requirements of the December 27, 2022, Decree establishing the conditions for performing direct-reading measurements ofCO2 concentrationin indoor air.

We also offer this high-end sensor for renton this page. You’ll record data for one week and then receive a comprehensive analysis report (with graphs), allowing you to determine whether you need to improve your air exchange rate.

If you operate a public access building (ERP) and wish to conduct measurements in accordance with the decree on indoor air quality monitoring, check out our dedicated analysis kit (QAI Self-Diagnostic Kit for ERPs).

List of Measured Parameters

This sensor will allow you to monitor:

  • The level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air;
  • Room temperature;
  • Ambienthumidity;
  • Atmospheric pressure.

Real-time monitoring of these parameters will allow you to assess the level of airtightness in your rooms and thereby improve your indoor air quality.

Detailed Contents

- 1 Class'AirCO2 sensor (Pyrescom®) - Dimensions: 90 x 100 x 35 mm;

- 1 USB cable for charging the sensor (and retrieving measurements for the version with data logging);

- 1 mounting bracket;

- 1 manufacturer’s calibration certificate;

- 1 user manual;

- 1 access to the Class'Air software for managing measurement campaignsif you choose the version with data logging.

Using the Sensor

The sensor is very easy to use. A user manual is provided, explaining how to set the measurement frequency and the threshold values for LED color changes. You can also configure an audible beep to sound when a certain threshold is exceeded.

For the sensor with data logging, the manual also explains how to start and stop data logging.

The sensor has a battery life of approximately 12 months (battery-powered) with a measurement frequency of 10 minutes. For the version with data logging, this battery life may vary depending on usage.

Class'air CO2 Sensor

Class’Air is an educational tool , designed and manufactured in France, that provides a simple and intuitive way to monitor carbon dioxide(CO2) levels. Monitoring these levels serves as an indicator of indoor air quality: it allows users to determine in real time whether air exchange is sufficient.

This sensor meets the requirements of Decree 2022-1690 of December 27, 2022, regardingthe annual requirement to monitor air quality in establishments open to the public.
