Description of the Test Kit
Did you know that more than 50% of homes have a moisture problem? And that this moisture can lead to mold growth in homes?
Mold is a microscopic fungus that thrives in warm, humid conditions. To reproduce, it releases spores into the indoor air.
The presence of mold in the indoor environment of homes can lead to serious health problems: irritation of the nose and throat, flu-like symptoms (stuffy nose, runny nose...), the onset and worsening of asthma, allergies (respiratory and skin), respiratory disorders…
With the “Invisible Mold” testing kit, you can find out if you’re exposed to these microorganisms that are hazardous to your health and take steps to improve the quality of your indoor environment.
Mold isn’t always visible (behind furniture, under wallpaper, etc.), but it can be detected by culturing dust that contains the spores released by mold. This allows you to identify the types of mold present.
Is this kit right for my situation?
This kit can be used when mold is suspected (for example, due to high humidity levels—such as from drying laundry or during lockdown), even if it isn’t visible.
If you see mold, you can also combine this kit with a
Visible Surface Mold Kit. The information provided by a swab or tape sample can complement that provided by a dust sample.
Contents of an Analysis Kit
Everything is included in your analysis kit:
- 1 detailed instruction manual
- 1 Dustream Collector sampling device (adapter + tip + filter)
- 1 prepaid return envelope (Metropolitan France only)
- 1 analysis via culture and microscopic observation
- 1 interpreted analysis report
How to Use the Analysis Kit
Simply collect dust from a room in your home using the provided device—which attaches to a vacuum cleaner—and return the small filter to us using the prepaid envelope provided.
Results and turnaround time
The report will be available no later than 20 days after the sample is received at the laboratory.
This analysis provides quantitative information on the identified molds. Culturing the collected sample allows us to detect strains present in very small quantities.
