Description of the Test Kit

Many building materials, furnishings, and decorative items used in your home can be sources of heavy metal emissions: paint, computer equipment, batteries, roofing, pipes and plumbing, toys, crystal objects, ceramics, engineered stone countertops, and more.

Once released into the home, these pollutants settle on surfaces such as furniture or the floor and accumulate in dust. Our bodies can therefore be exposed to them by inhaling the finest dust particles, which are suspended in the air.

With a simple dust sample, it is now possible to assess the level of contamination in your home from trace metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium, arsenic, nickel, and copper.

The dust collection device is very easy to use. Once collected in the dedicated filter using a household vacuum cleaner and the adapter provided in the analysis kit, the dust is analyzed in the laboratory to identify and quantify the trace metals present.

In the absence of guideline values, the results are compared to statistical data established in international scientific studies. We are currently compiling the data collected over the past few years in our laboratory (anonymized) in order to incorporate this data into our reports within the next few months.

Is this kit right for my situation?

Do you want to assess heavy metal contamination in your home? Are you considering purchasing or renovating an older home? Have you been experiencing unexplained symptoms since moving into your home?

This kit allows you to test for up to 7 heavy metals that may be present in your home.

There are many sources of trace metal emissions in our homes, and chronic exposure to these pollutants can lead to numerous health problems. It is therefore important to identify the source of this contamination so you can take effective action to reduce your exposure.

You can also measure your body’s daily exposure to heavy metals using our Heavy Metals Hair Test Kit.

List of pollutants analyzed

  • Lead: This element has been used by humans since prehistoric times. Although toxic, it is used in many applications: crystal, paint, batteries, ceramics, ammunition, and more.Lead poisoning can cause neurological disorders and kidney problems, among other health issues.
  • Mercury: This element is found in many everyday products such asfood, dental amalgams (also known as “fillings”), certain electrical equipment, batteries, and some cosmetic or pharmaceutical products. Mercury is toxic to the nervous system, but it also affects the digestive, respiratory, and immune systems.
  • Cadmium: This element is found in particular in contaminated soil (from sludge application, fertilizers, etc.), inthe air near certain factories, inwater, and in food. Prolonged exposure to cadmium can lead to bone fragility, kidney and respiratory disorders, reproductive problems, and an increased risk of cancer.

The most comprehensive testing kit allows you to measure, in addition to these three elements, the presenceof chromium, arsenic, nickel, and copper.
