INERIS Certification

The law on the national commitment to the environment has made it mandatory to monitor indoor air quality in certain facilities that serve vulnerable members of the public (Articles L. 221-8 and R. 221-30 et seq. of the Environmental Code).

The facilities in question include, in particular, those that care for children:

  • Childcare facilities for children under 6 years of age (daycare centers, drop-in childcare centers, etc.)
  • Recreation centers
  • Primary and secondary schools and vocational training institutions (preschools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, etc.)

The regulatory framework governing the monitoring of indoor air quality (IAQ) in these facilities includes, in particular, the implementation of a campaign to measure pollutants (formaldehyde, benzene, CO₂) through a self-assessment using the practical guide for improved air quality.

To assist the owners or operators of these facilities in using this guide, the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition has tasked INERIS with issuing a voluntary, non-binding certification of compliance for kits available on the market.

The QAI self-assessment analysis kits for public buildings offered by Kudzu Science were certified as compliant on March 4, 2021, in accordance with the specifications required by INERIS.

(Report No. 203910 - 2707210 - v1.0).
