Description of the testing kit

Using a thin strand of hair, it is possible to assess your average exposure to pollutants over the 3 months preceding the sample collection. As hair grows, it absorbs pollutants that enter the body through the blood vessels supplying the hair follicle at its root. Since hair grows at a rate of about 1 cm per month, analyzing the most recent 3 centimeters provides a quarterly exposure assessment.

These pollutants are ubiquitous in our environment; any object containing metals can be a source of emissions: copper roofing, computer equipment, batteries, pipes and plumbing, toys, dental amalgams, decorative items, paints…Our diet is also a significant source of exposure.

This testing kit allows you to measure your daily exposure to trace metals such as mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium, arsenic, nickel, and copper. The hair sampling device is very easy to use. Once collected and returned, the hair sample is analyzed in the laboratory to identify and quantify the trace metals present. In the absence of specific reference values, the results are compared to statistical data established in international scientific studies. We are currently compiling the data collected in our laboratory since 2014 (processed anonymously) in order to include this data in our reports within the next few months.

Is this kit right for my situation?

Would you like to know your chronic exposure to heavy metals? Have you developed new symptoms—such as fatigue, headaches, mental or digestive disorders—or more serious problems like kidney failure, liver problems, or lead poisoning?

This kit allows you to test for up to 7 heavy metals that may be present in your body.

Chronic exposure or acute poisoning from trace metals can lead to numerous health problems, and there are many sources of these metals in our environment. That’s why it’s important to know your level of exposure.

Would you like to measure heavy metal contamination in your home? With our Heavy Metal Dust Kit, assess how much your home contributes to your overall exposure.

List of pollutants analyzed

  • Lead: This element has been used by humans since prehistoric times. Although toxic, it is used in many applications: crystal, paint, batteries, ceramics, ammunition, and more.Lead poisoning can cause neurological disorders and kidney problems, among other health issues.
  • Mercury: This element is found in many everyday products such asfood, dental amalgams (also known as “fillings”), certain electrical equipment, batteries, and some cosmetic or pharmaceutical products. Mercury is toxic to the nervous system, but it also affects the digestive, respiratory, and immune systems.
  • Cadmium: This element is found in particular in contaminated soil (from sludge application, fertilizers, etc.), inthe air near certain factories, inwater, and in food. Prolonged exposure to cadmium can lead to bone fragility, kidney and respiratory disorders, reproductive problems, and an increased risk of cancer.

The most comprehensive testing kit allows you to measure your exposure to chromium, arsenic, nickel, and copper in addition to these three elements.
